i seriously dislike those times when boredom grips and the only thing you have is the internet. I read on this magazine that too much staring at your computer could rust up your imagination.
WHAT OF MY WRITING CAREER NOW HUH?
NO, but really, I need to find something worth my time. Like that one-question math homework from my super awesome new math teacher, or finishing my unfinished puzzle that I started a night before new year's eve, or taking a walk to the bookstore and buy Skullduggery Pleasant #2 which I had longed for.
Then again, you can't escape the grasp of the ever-so-tempting realm of the internet. It's like The Grid, holding you in place where you can't escape but it pulls you in and eventually you'll get attracted by it and have no intention to leave because it's fascinating yet so poisonous. There's that amazement in in you when you go there and feel it, communicating with it, and just being there.
I myself have no idea why I'm so captivated by it. I guess it's because it makes me think of The Grid, with all it's glowing pathways and clubs and dark alleys that you now are actually of pixels you see in broken pictures in Adobe Photoshop. There are people and it makes you feel like you aren't the only one exploring it, you aren't the only one there seeing it all. And then there are the information you're just dying to know about. Face it, everybody wants to know at least about something, but one information would almost likely to be chainlinked to another, and that creates a train of curiosity which eventually will lead you to an unending thirst for more knowledge of things.
Most people use the internet for making friends. I use it for my brain. I want to know the world. But I know too much of soimething is never a good thing. There are boundaries I have to be aware of. Therefore, I have come to the conclusion that: the internet is a good source of all kinds of things, but not all kinds of things are good.
So I guess that's why it rusts up your brain and imagination. Because your brain wan't made to contain
everything. And even though you don't want your brain to be so, the temptation to stare at the beauty of The Grid will still be there.
It'll
always be there.
